• The Concept: A 3-hour chart show that counts down the top 40 songs played across English-speaking radio stations worldwide.
• The Data: The chart is compiled exclusively from actual station airplay on FM and online radio stations rather than retail sales or streaming data.
• Global Reach: Originally launched by Spencer in 2008 as The eXpat Chart for expatriates, it rebranded to Airplay40 in 2013. Today, it is broadcast on over 250 stations globally across regions like Europe, North America, the Middle East, and New Zealand.
• Spin-offs: The brand also features Airplay40 Rewind, a nostalgic spin-off show that highlights previous chart-toppers and classic hits from different eras.

• Experience: He has been broadcasting for over two decades and has worked in the media for nearly 30 years.
• Background: Before taking Airplay40 global, he served as a programming controller for the UK's first bilingual student radio station, worked as a Production & Promotions Manager for a major English network in Spain, and hosted local breakfast and drive-time shows across the South East of the UK.
• Other Work: He also produces and hosts The Spencer James Daily, a localized daily syndication package for radio stations.
